I notice a lot of people are afraid of art.

Why would I say that? I’m an artist, right? Right. That’s how I know.

At sidewalk shows or festivals I have seen people walk to the other side, look up to the sky while they walk by or be really interested in Something Else.

And you know what? I get it. I’m not unlike that about art. I’m afraid I can’t afford what I like or I will like something no one else does or I’ll feel pressure to buy and I’ll get in over my head.

Do any of those resonate with you? If they do, can you tell me? If they don’t, can you tell me what your experience is?

As an artist I feel the pain of the person who walks by quickly and I feel the pain of missing a good home for my work.  Are you someone who walks by quickly? What’s your biggest (or medium-sized, or smallest) concern?
